A few more from Dhaka

I have a few more random photos from Dhaka--first, here's the skyline from a tall building--the buildings go on and on without end and it's the same in all directions. I particularly like the orange and green building in the foreground.
This next one is from outside the mexican restaurant they took us for lunch. The food was tasty, and had all the right basic ingredients, but it still tasted like masala spices.
We were very honored to meet Kamal Hossain, who was one of the main authors of the original constitution for Bangladesh. He and his wife hosted us in their home, which was very nice and had lots of original artwork from various Bengali artists. Here he is signing the copies of the constitution he gave us:
Update: the morning we were enjoying tea and snacks in his home, this editorial about him appeared in the Daily Star.

Here's a nice photo of a chicken seller. This street was lined with them--they tie all the feet together to keep them in the basket. Bengalis like very fresh chicken, so you buy it and then they kill it for you right there. I haven't bought one yet.
And here's a final one of a very poor family having a meal on the sidewalk. Notice they have taken their sandals off and lined them up at the edge of the tarp, similar to the way people do when they enter their home. I suspect this might be their home.
