Pirate ships!

okay, technically they're really fishing and cargo boats, but they look like pirate ships! These photos are from the river delta we traveled in to visit the tilapia and shrimp farms. We had to go in with the tide and out with the tide and when the tide is coming in and going out it has an insanely strong flow--it was rushing over boueys and logs in the water. There were a mix of large wooden fishing and cargo boats (traditionally powered with sails, but now w/ motors) and smaller transport and fishing boats:

Here it's still sunny on our boat and we can see the rain coming, so we start to store our stuff and the driver pulls out a huge black plastic tarp, ties it to the front of the boat and we all hold it down over our heads while it thunders and lightenings and pours over us for a few minutes.....didn't get photos of that for obvious reasons.

The first one was when we were almost back to shore, so there was a long dock to walk out to boats:

It was a beautiful day out on the water and I only got a ~little bit~ too much sun. The dupatta scarf saved my life!
